Authentic Certificate

Now there's no question about it! James Whiddon does indeed have an official Certificate of Authenticity. The pedigreed pieces are featured below. Look below the fold for more about tonight's meeting:

Eleven club members were onhand to see James' pride and joy, along with 2 soldiers who made their debut. (Thanks for your service fellas .... and the chess.) In attendance were Ming Loi, Johnny Owens, Jerry Weldin, Stephanie Clayton, Bob Lenning, Ernie Weaver, Kerry Fatula, Nick Folino, Sal Mancuso, Steve Parsons, James Whiddon, and new visitors Angel Reyes and Raymond Dilworth.

  2. For those interested James purchased this set from chessbaron.com and bought the board from The House of Stauton. Both sell a variety of sets and boards to suit individual taste and budget.

  3. The "Members" section erroniously states that James has never lost a game with this set. In fact he lost the first game he ever played on it at El Tapatio 4. The game was a "London System" with James conducting the white pieces.
