Joe Farrell and Ernie Weaver Tie For 1st In The April Fool's Open!

Joe Farrell and Ernie Weaver draw the final game of the tournament to decide the winners of this year's club April tourney! They both finished with a score of 3.5-0.5. James Whiddon came in a clear 3rd with a score of 3-1.

I asked all those that received a prize to submit a game or two to share with our readers. More details will appear soon!

I just wanted to point out a few "random acts of kindness" I observed Saturday. I will list them below in no particular order.
1. Johnny withdrew from the tournament to prevent the necessity of haveing a bye each round.
2. Larry Davidson donated a free chess book to every participant. Many thanks Larry; a copy will be placed in the Club Library in your name.
3. Josh Jordan donated his share of the E/Unrated prize to the Chess Club.

My "gift" of 1/2 point to Joe in the second round was not an act of kindness, but just plain old stupidity on my part.

Thanks to Kerry Fatula for coming early and helping me set up the room.
